Request/problem:
The OPC Foundation requested a live demo for the Hanover Fair presenting the connection between sensors and Microsoft Azure using OPC UA PubSub MQTT.
Solution:
As sensors, we decided to use the XDK from Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions. That small device contains a series of sensors i.e. temperature, light, accelerometer, acoustic, gyroscope, humidity, etc… Over wireless communication, we collected these sensor data in our COLIGO Edge Device (www.coligo-tech.com), then pushed these to Azure using PubSub over MQTT. Since the Matrikon Flex OPC UA SDK provides the functionality, the implementation was rather simple.

As a result, this demo was shown and presented both on the OPC Foundation and Microsoft booths and the feedback has been extremely positive.
